The cachapa, Torta de Choclo, Rigua, Guirila or Choreadas is a typical dish of Venezuela, Colombia, Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. It is made with ground sweet yellow corn, home cooked on a griddle or skillet.

The Cachapa can be eaten with your hands, in simple establishments to roadsides or in more formal restaurants, with knife and fork, accompanied by hand cheese, guayanés cheese, butter, cream, or several other combined ingredients.

Because of its hand able nature and mild flavor, you can eat it at any time of day. Currently the cachapas can be purchased ready-made and chilled in supermarkets.
